This week the moon is in her Gibbous phase. This we might call the Fertility phase of the month (lunation). The peak of the Maiden energy for the month.

I learned about this lunar, fluid or relational, what we’d call Feminine or cyclical way of keeping time, (what I also deem menstrual mind in Embodiment Work,) the first time in Demetra George’s book Mysteries of the Dark Moon. Gibbous moon this week is waxing phase of moon in union with waxing phase of year and can be active in idea, thought inspiration, and follow through. Seeds are being tended just beneath the ground, soil is being tended by elements or hands or both! On a Quickening tide that finally moves us with a clearer and more swift momentum.

Saturday’s Full Moon is the last of Winter. The end of the lunation is the weekend of March 12-14, when we’ll prepare not just for an upcoming seasonal reset with the Equinox oncoming, but a corresponding New Moon with the circadian reset of Daylight Savings ending. The following weekend is the Quarter festival of Spring Equinox proper or Ostara.
