“The deepest work is usually the darkest. A brave woman, a wisening woman, will develop the poorest psychic land, for if she builds on the best land of her psyche, she will have for a view the least of what she is. So do not be afraid to investigate the worst. It only guarantees increase of soul power through fresh insights and opportunities for re-visioning ones life and self anew.” Clarissa Pinkola-Estes
Come, Samhain season… threshold, entryway…embracing of the archetypal tide of descent. Come, season of dark, of Shadow.
The Dark as metaphor in soul or individuation work can, but doesn’t have to only mean repressed or disembodied material. It also suggests unpotentiated, as in latent or undeveloped energy. In this way, we enter the dark dance with our own shadows understanding another metaphor:
Sight brings awareness, or light.
What can be seen can be transformed. And to see into the dark?
We must enter.
Enter. Do so by surrendering to wherever you’re at, meaning however you are feeling right now. Tired, fearful. Bold, brave. Grateful, enthusiastic. Exhausted. More than one…several at once…
Enter, begin. Surrender to you, now, as precious and beautiful as you are in whatever form you find you.
This weekend’s full moon is Final Harvest moon, or the last full moon of Harvest season according to the Women’s Mysteries path. The new moon to follow on October 27 is called Lunar Samhain.
Lunar Samhain moves us to the NorthWest corner of the Medicine Wheel. Midway between Fall Equinox and the longest night of the year, the most amount of dark~Winter Solstice.
As the Harvest of the growing season is brought fully inside and made complete we give thanks, we count blessings…we make ready for the season of retreat, of Nature’s natural ebb.
We pay attention to what we see. That is the medicine of this weekend’s Final Harvest Full Moon.
Samhain season is the time we ready by revering Death as a holy grace. We revere ancestors, and legacies that live on of them through us. We consider loss or grief, including dead or deadened parts within ourselves, or our culture, or within Mother Nature. We consider the themes and metaphors that net all of these ideas together for us in both personal and collective ways.
We enter, we begin. We surrender.
We look, we see, Within~
Tend well sisters and brothers of Soul. Be good to you! Begin, within~
